Meat Wrapper

Part Time

Primary Responsibilities

• Greet, assist, and ring out all customers politely.
• Wrap cuts of meat and by pound meat carefully, adhering to health codes.
• Understand and communicate store policies, procedures, and equipment usage.
• Organize cooler/freezer/preparation areas, verify merchandise, inspect deliveries, and code-date items.
• Lift and handle various cuts of meat throughout the shift, ensuring proper wrapping standards.

Supervision: The Meat Wrapper reports directly to the Meat Department Manager.

Qualifications

• Basic mathematics skills (add, subtract, multiply, divide).
• High School Diploma or Equivalent.
• Prior supervisory experience.

Specific Tasks

• Lift, twist, move, and carry up to 80 lbs.
• Maintain signage and pricing in departmental areas.
• Care for signs, banners, and debris.
• Handle cash, debit/credit, EBT/WIC, coupons, and vouchers accurately.
• Respond promptly and politely to questions from customers, coworkers, and vendors.
• Use store phone and intercom systems properly.
• Check case and cooler temperatures four times daily and record each check.

Work Environment

Inside work involving temperature transitions, humidity, dust, and equipment from backdoor, compressors, coolers, and freezers.
