Meat Wrapper

Part Time

Primary Responsibilities

• Greet, assist, and politely ring out all customers
• Wrap cuts of meat and by-pound meat carefully, following all health codes
• Understand and follow complex verbal instructions regarding store policy, procedures, and equipment usage
• Supervise/perform organization of the cooler/freezer/preparation area, verify merchandise against invoices, inspect deliveries, sort cases, and code-date items
• Lift and hold various cuts of meat throughout the shift, ensuring proper wrapping standards

Supervision Received

Meat Wrapper reports directly to the Meat Department Manager.

Qualifications

• Basic Mathematics skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division)
• High School Diploma or Equivalent
• Prior supervisory experience

Specific Tasks

• Lift, twist, move, hold, and carry up to 80 lbs., from floor to shelving or overhead racks
• Maintain signage and pricing in departmental areas
• Care for signs, banners, and debris from daily operations
• Handle cash, debit/credit, EBT/WIC, coupons, and vouchers accurately and efficiently
• Respond promptly and politely to customer, coworker, and vendor inquiries
• Use store phone and intercom systems properly
• Check case and cooler temperatures 4 times daily, recording each check

Work Environment Note

Inside work with transitions of heat, cold, humidity, and dust from backdoor, compressors, cooler, freezer, and preparation areas.
