Job Description
Prepare and display meat items for sale in accordance with company standards and policies. Wait on customers and provide customer services. Demonstrate the company’s leadership behaviors and the core values of respect, honesty, integrity, diversity, inclusion, and safety.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and display merchandise in a neat, efficient, orderly manner.
- Check product quality; ensure it is always fresh, safe, and merchandise is properly rotated.
- Keep sales areas, backrooms, and coolers clean and well organized.
- Keep carts, tools, and supplies in their designated areas and well organized. Keep floors clean, safe, and free from clutter.
- Manage display cases to ensure proper inventory levels and freshness. Unload trucks, sort, and prepare merchandise for sale.
- Provide good customer and associate relations.
- Wash and sanitize equipment in accordance with company and Health Department policies and procedures.
- Make a clean, neat, and friendly impression on customers.
- Able to communicate effectively with customers and fellow associates.
- Wait on customers and counter promptly and cheerfully. Greet customers and assist them in finding products.
- Follow all current rules and duties of the Meat department, company policies, and state and federal laws.
- Keep work area and equipment clean and orderly. Be prompt, tactful, calm, courteous, and professional in all interactions.
- Adhere to company policies & procedures, especially regarding dress code, grooming, food safety, sanitation, and maintaining a harassment-free environment.
- Maintain equipment and facilities properly and safely.
- Perform any other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Minimum
- Willing and available to work weekends and holidays as needed.
- Effective written and oral communication skills.
- Able to read shelf tags, signs, and product labels.
- Qualified to operate power tools such as wrappers, slicers, grinders, power saws, and jacks.
- Work safely with chemical cleaning solutions.
- Ability to work as part of a team in a fast-paced environment and assist all team members.
- Handle stressful situations tactfully and calmly, making positive impressions on associates and customers.
Desired
- Experience in meat work or similar food preparation roles.
- Dependability and integrity in past work records.
- Knowledge of laws and regulations related to employment, OSHA, food handling, etc.
