Job summary

Halperns' Steak & Seafood in Baltimore, MD is seeking a Meat Trimmer to prepare raw materials for orders, trimming beef, pork, lamb and veal to customer specifications. You will work with supervisors to schedule production, inspect products for defects, weigh and portion cuts, and follow strict quality control procedures in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Must have working knowledge of production equipment.
• Demonstrated ability to trim various cuts of Beef, Pork, Lamb and Veal in an accurate and timely manner.
• Follows company’s Quality Control procedures.
• Ability to problem solve in terms of trimming and product substitutions.
• Ability to work in a fast paced, high pressure environment.
• Must be a team player and possess a positive attitude.
• Ability to effectively communicate, both written and verbally, in English.

Responsibilities

• Prepares raw material, trimming to customer specifications, to be cut for orders.
• Works with supervisors and production managers to schedule production.
• Cleans and trims carcasses for future processing.
• Inspects meat products for defects, bruises or blemishes and remove
• Uses knives, cleavers or other equipment to perform trimming.
• Weighs meats and tag containers for weight and contents.
• Reduces processing costs by cutting and sizing portions accurately with good yields.
• Follows company’s detailed product specifications.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Starting pay : $18-20/hr

Schedule: Mon - Fri 9am until finish

Position Summary:

Essential Functions:

• Works with supervisors and production managers to schedule production.
• Cleans and trims carcasses for future processing.
• Inspects meat products for defects, bruises or blemishes and remove
• Separates meats and byproducts into specified containers and seal containers.
• Uses knives, cleavers or other equipment to perform trimming.
• Weighs meats and tag containers for weight and contents.
• Reduces processing costs but cutting and sizing portions accurately with good yields as well as meeting customer specs.
• Follows company’s detailed product specifications.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
