New Seasons Market in the Pacific Northwest seeks a Meat Clerk to support the Meat and Seafood department, ensuring quality products and excellent customer service. You will assist customers, help with selections, and maintain department cleanliness and presentation.

The role involves preparing, weighing, and wrapping products, stocking cases, and participating in opening/closing procedures while adhering to safety standards and company policies.

Qualifications

• Retail grocery or food service experience preferred.
• Basic knife skills preferred, with ability to learn and properly use knives/blades in a commercial environment.
• Knowledge of retail Meat and Seafood departments; prior meat/butcher experience is a bonus.

Responsibilities

• Prepares Meat and Seafood department for store opening and closing.
• Assists customers with product selection; shares product knowledge and makes recommendations based on customer needs.
• Prepares, cuts, wraps, weighs, tares, prices and presents Meat and Seafood department products.
• Stocks and maintains meat and seafood cases.
• Completes customer special orders and provides follow-through as needed.
• Stocks, rotates and faces products with attention to quality and expiration dates.
• Handles damaged and spoiled product according to company policy.
• Receives and unloads merchandise; checks quality, count and condition; communicates issues to management.
