Job summary

The Fresh Market is seeking a Meat and Seafood Manager to lead the department, direct team members, manage inventory, and uphold pricing integrity. This fast-paced role requires attention to detail, efficiency, and a commitment to excellence to drive results.

Salary ranges from $20.16 to $25.20 per hour, with benefits including discounts, wage access, 401K with match, and comprehensive insurance options. Weekend and holiday availability is expected.

Qualifications

• 3 years of management experience in grocery retail, restaurant, meat cutting and/or culinary experience.
• Ability to read, understand and follow planograms, layouts, and schematics of the department for merchandising
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office
• Must be at least 18 years old

Responsibilities

• Greet guests and proactively assist them in a friendly manner with accurate and timely service
• Handle, slice, expertly cut and trim meat and seafood products and items for meals while managing quality levels
• Make recommendations and accommodate requests
• Manage order guides/ordering deadlines/reducing shrink/damage
• Properly receiving/stocking of goods with rotation standards
• Direct teams to handle, slice and prepare specialty meat/seafood and meal solutions
• Engage, motivate, coach, and train team members on-the-job and via training platform
• Ensure training and certification of all Assistant Meat Managers and Meat Cutters

About the Position:

As the Meat and Seafood Manager, you are taking the lead in directing team members, managing department inventory, pricing integrity and other operational processes that require significant attention to detail. This is a fast-paced position that requires efficiency and effectiveness and a passion for excellence to drive results.

The pay range for this position is $20.16 - $25.20 per hour

What You'll Do:

• Greet guests and proactively assist them in a friendly manner with accurate and timely service
• Handle, slice, expertly cut and trim a variety of the department’s prime and premium meat and seafood products, and items for our convenient meal solutions throughout the day, while also managing quality product levels as indicated within TFM standards
• Making recommendations and accommodating requests
• Managing order guides/ordering deadlines/reducing shrink/damage
• Properly receiving/stocking of goods that follow rotation standards when replenishing product levels.

• Direct teams to handle, slice and prepare a variety of specialty meat, seafood, and Convenient Meal Solutions throughout the day.
• Engage, motivate, coach, and train team members “on-the-job” as well as through The Fresh Market’s internal training platform to provide excellent guest service in a safe and secure manner
• Ensure the training and certification of all Assistant Meat Managers and Meat Cutters.

Availability:

This position requires the willingness to work a flexible schedule, including weekends, days, evenings, and holidays.

Qualifications:

CERTIFICATIONS

All The Fresh Market Meat-Seafood Managers must be certified within TFMA within 90 days of hire.

At a minimum, what you’ll need:

• 3 years of management experience in grocery retail, restaurant, meat cutting and/or culinary experience
• Ability to read, understand and follow planograms, layouts, and schematics of the department for merchandising
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office
• Must be at least 18 years old
