Responsibilities
At Sprouts Farmers Market, the Meat & Seafood Manager is responsible for the sales and operation of the Meat & Seafood Department.
- Plan, order, and prepare cutting lists. Process meat according to department goals and standards to maximize sales and gross profit.
- Ensure correct ordering, receiving, unloading, storage, and rotation of merchandise and displays.
- Engage and evaluate team members through coaching, feedback, and development discussions; make recommendations on merit increases via the bi-annual performance review process.
- Attend and participate in in-store meetings.
- Recruit, hire, and make promotion/transfer decisions in collaboration with the Store Manager.
- Address Team Member concerns confidently using independent judgment.
- Take and document corrective actions as needed, collaborating with business and HR partners; include coaching, counseling, discipline, suspension, or termination when necessary.
- Create and adjust schedules to ensure maximum productivity and efficiency.
- Communicate standards, expectations, policies, and product knowledge to team members.
- Lead a team dedicated to delivering high-quality products, excellent service, and a great customer experience.
- Serve as a Key Carrier or act as Manager on Duty (MOD) as needed.
Qualifications
Qualified candidates must:
- Be at least 18 years old with basic knowledge of math, weights, and measures. Have at least 2 years of meat cutting experience in the grocery or restaurant industry, including leadership experience.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
- Be capable of standing for up to 8 hours per shift, walking up to 2 miles, and working inside a temperature-controlled environment.
- Have good vision for using sharp knives, band saw, grinder, sausage maker, box cutter, wrapping machine, and tenderizer.
- Be able to lift/carry products between 25 to 90 lbs. and move pallets up to 500 lbs. with a pallet jack.
- Be able to work a flexible schedule, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
- Possess knowledge of personnel reports, margin reports, weekly sales, and financial goals.
- Maintain outgoing, friendly behavior and a positive attitude towards team members and customers.
