Job summary

Yoke's Fresh Markets is seeking an Assistant Meat Manager to guide the Meat/Seafood Department in delivering exceptional guest service and hot, fresh products. You will train staff on safety, quality, and department standards while ensuring a welcoming store experience.

You will lead through product knowledge, merchandising, and collaboration with store teams to meet sales and margin goals in a busy supermarket setting.

Qualifications

• Education and/or Experience: High School diploma or GED; or a minimum of two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Language Skills: Reads, analyzes, and interprets general business documents. Communicates effectively with guests, vendors, and associates.
• Mathematical Skills: Performs math to manage a profitable Meat operation using fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions.

Responsibilities

• Reporting for assigned shifts on time and regularly, with clear communication and safe task performance.
• Promoting sales through discussions with guests and providing product recommendations and information on promotions.
• Performing inventory, sales, and bookwork to monitor financial performance and meet budget goals.
• Merchandising existing and new products to promote sales.
• Ensuring food safety and proper handling, temperatures, and cross-contamination prevention.
