Job summary

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED; seafood/meat industry experience preferred.
• Ability to read safety rules and operating manuals.
• Basic math skills for money, weight, and percentages.
• Experience as a meat cutter preferred.

Responsibilities

• Exhibit and develop maximum customer relations through friendly and courteous behavior.
• Promote a high level of morale within department and store, using honest communication.
• Maintain good working relationships with other department managers to improve sales.
• Work as a team to achieve store objectives and targets.
• Comply with all company policies, programs and directives as in Code of Conduct.
• Learn and adhere to standards for meat dept regarding receiving, pricing and temps.
• Learn to answer guest questions on ingredients, seafood, and equipment.
• May assist with ordering and maintaining inventory as directed by Meat Manager.
• Learn to identify, cut, process, rotate and merchandise meat products.
• May function as Fishmonger as needed for seafood handling and merchandising.
• Capable of filing, rotating, merchandising products in display cases and coolers.
