Job summary

IGA Market in South Carolina is seeking a part-time Meat/Seafood department clerk to greet guests, display friendly service, and help keep our cases stocked and inviting.

You will assist with receiving, pricing, labeling, and maintaining safety and sanitation while delivering flexible hours, weekly pay and benefits including 401K and pension.

Qualifications

• Excellent interpersonal and selling skills with an outgoing personality.
• Able to work well with others and interact with guests.
• Able to lift 50 lbs occasionally and 25 lbs constantly.
• Able to bend, kneel, and stand for extended periods.
• Capable of working in a cold environment.
• Must be at least 18 years old.

Responsibilities

• Greet guests politely and create a selling environment on the department floor.
• Prepare knife-ready meat/seafood products per store standards.
• Assist with receiving, inventory, and storage.
• Price, stock, and rotate items in meat/seafood areas.
• Maintain safety and sanitation in prep areas, coolers, and sales floor.
• Ensure products are in date and maintain quality.
• Communicate shrink issues and guest requests to management.
• Make PA announcements for meat/seafood promotions.
• Perform other duties as assigned by management.

Responsibilities

• Provides polite, friendly greetings and interactions with all guests as they approach the department. Creates a selling environment using selling skills.
• Prepares knife-ready products for sale (slice, trim, wrap, weigh, and price) according to Floco Foods standards.
• Assists in product receiving, inventory, and storage.
• Prices, stocks, and rotates frozen items, prepared meats, and fresh meat/seafood in sales areas.
• Maintains safety and sanitation standards in all areas that come in contact with meat/seafood and in the prep areas, coolers, freezers, and sales floor.
• Maintains high quality and freshness with products available for sale. Ensures all products are in date.
• Communicates shrink issues to management.
• Communicates guests requests/concerns to management.
• Makes PA announcements for sale and promotional items in the meat/seafood department.
• Performs all other duties as assigned by management.
