Sprouts Farmers Market is seeking a Meat Clerk to join a fast-paced, customer-focused team. You will handle meat receiving, weighing, grinding, and rotation, while delivering exceptional service and upholding strict safety standards.

The role emphasizes teamwork, flexibility with schedules including nights and weekends, and thorough product knowledge to assist customers in selecting quality meats.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old and have a high school diploma or equivalent with basic math knowledge.
• Be dependable and reliable and perform other related duties as assigned.
• Outgoing and friendly demeanor with the ability to interact with our customers.
• Flexible schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays.
• Good communication skills and ability to work in a team.
• General housekeeping and sanitation in the department.
• Adherence to safety, health, weights and measures regulations, and company recipes.
• Must be able to stand up to 4 hours at a time and up to 8 hours per shift; may walk up to 2 miles per shift.
• Able to work in a temperature-controlled environment and maintain cleanliness.
• Ability to lift/carry 25–90 lbs., up to 10 feet for 20 hours.
• Able to use a pallet jack up to 500 lbs., with certain limitations.
• Move racks up to 70 lbs., up to 50 feet for up to 10 hours.
• Move tables up to 70 lbs., up to 2 feet for up to 1 hour.

Responsibilities

• Provide a high level of customer service in the meat department.
• Receive, store, and grind meats; unload deliveries.
• Count and weigh incoming articles and verify against invoices.
• Rotate meats to ensure freshness and avoid aging.
• Assist customers with questions and special orders.
• Follow the department's Clean as You Go and Fresh at 4 programs.
• Adhere to all procedural guidelines set by the Meat Department.
• Guide customers to product locations and stay customer-focused.
