Qualifications

• Minimum of 1 year in meat processing, slaughter, or related fields preferred.
• Enthusiastic learners will be considered even without direct experience.
• Physically fit for long periods of standing, lifting, and variable temperatures.
• Proficient knife handling or willingness to develop this skill.
• Background in agriculture or livestock management is advantageous.
• Knowledge of beef primal and subprimal cuts is beneficial.
• Punctual, safety-oriented, and collaborative in a team-driven environment.
• Reading, writing, and verbal communication in English is required.

Responsibilities

• Execute full-cycle meat processing including humane stunning, bleeding, skinning, eviscerating, splitting and trimming.
• Adhere to animal welfare standards in livestock handling.
• Prepare and inspect carcasses to meet quality standards, including washing and weighing.
• Maintain sharp tools and ensure processing equipment functions throughout shifts.
• Uphold cleanliness and sanitation protocols across work areas and equipment.
• Rigorously apply HACCP guidelines and other mandatory food safety standards.
• Support ancillary barn duties as needed, including feeding and watering livestock.
• Assist with end-of-shift sanitation and clean-up routines.
