MEAT/MEAT CUTTER (Finance)



Perform general product preparation, clean-up, and stock work in the Meat department and provide customer service. Demonstrate the company's core values of respect, honesty, integrity, diversity, inclusion, and safety.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Willing to work weekends and holidays.
  • Effective written and oral communication skills.
  • Ability to read shelf tags, signs, and product labels.
  • Must work with various cleaning solutions, safely use sharp tools, and operate certain equipment.
  • Ability to work as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
  • Able to tactfully and calmly handle stressful situations and make a positive impression on associates and customers.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Meat work experience or similar experience in food preparation.
  • Dependability and integrity reflected in past work records.
  • Knowledge of applicable laws and regulations related to employment practices, safety, and food handling.

Responsibilities include:

  • Perform tasks such as cutting, grinding, slicing, preparing, processing, trimming, tenderizing, sealing, packaging, wrapping, bagging, pricing, pre-fabricating, dating, labeling, scaling, merchandising, selling, serving customers, and other functions in accordance with company policies.
  • Keep department temperature logs accurately updated and maintained.
  • Stock and display meat items safely and in accordance with company standards.
  • Check product quality; ensure proper rotation and freshness.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of sales areas, backrooms, and coolers.
  • Keep carts, tools, and supplies organized.
  • Ensure floors are clean, safe, and clutter-free.
  • Provide excellent customer and associate relations.
  • Communicate effectively with customers and fellow associates.
  • Unload trucks, sort orders, and store in proper cooler locations.
  • Wash and sanitize equipment per policies and procedures.
  • Make a friendly impression on customers.
  • Promptly and cheerfully serve customers, greet them, and provide quality foods.
  • Contribute to store sales and profits through retail operations and marketing programs.
  • Be prompt, tactful, calm, courteous, and professional in all interactions.
  • Adhere to company policies, especially regarding a harassment- and discrimination-free work environment.
  • Work cooperatively in high-paced and stressful environments.
  • Manage conflicts reasonably and cooperatively.
  • Act with honesty and integrity regarding customer and business information.
  • Follow directions and seek assistance when needed to resolve issues.
  • Support interactions with minors, individuals with special needs, and older adults.
  • Perform essential functions with or without reasonable accommodation.
