Job Description
Perform general product preparation, clean-up and stock work in the Meat department and provide customer service. Demonstrate the company’s core values of respect, honesty, integrity, diversity, inclusion and safety.
Responsibilities
- Perform tasks such as cutting, grinding, slicing, preparing, processing, trimming, tenderizing, sealing, packaging, wrapping, bagging, pricing, prefabricating, dating, labeling, scaling, merchandising, selling, serving customers, and other functions in accordance with company policies.
- Keep department temperature logs accurately updated and maintained.
- Stock and display meat items safely and in accordance with company standards.
- Check product quality; ensure proper rotation and freshness.
- Keep sales areas, backrooms, coolers, and floors clean, organized, and safe.
- Maintain carts, tools, and supplies in their designated areas.
- Provide excellent customer and associate relations through effective communication.
- Unload trucks, sort orders, and store products appropriately.
- Wash and sanitize equipment following company and health department policies.
- Greet customers warmly and provide quality service.
- Support store sales and profits through retail and marketing programs.
- Maintain professionalism, tact, and courtesy in all interactions.
- Adhere to policies promoting a harassment and discrimination-free work environment.
- Work efficiently in a high-paced, sometimes stressful environment and manage conflicts cooperatively.
- Act with honesty and integrity regarding customer and business information.
- Follow directions and seek help when needed to resolve issues.
- Support interactions with minors, individuals with special needs, and older adults.
- Perform essential functions with or without reasonable accommodation.
Qualifications
Minimum
- Willing to work weekends and holidays.
- Effective communication skills in writing and speaking.
- Ability to read shelf tags, signs, and labels.
- Safe handling of cleaning solutions, sharp tools, and equipment.
- Ability to work as part of a team in a fast-paced setting.
- Calmly handle stressful situations and make positive impressions.
