Job Description
Perform general product preparation, clean-up and stock work in the Meat department and provide customer service. Demonstrate the company’s core values of respect, honesty, integrity, diversity, inclusion and safety.
Responsibilities
- Perform tasks such as cutting, grinding, slicing, preparing, processing, trimming, tenderizing, sealing, packaging, wrapping, bagging, pricing, prefabricating, dating, labeling, scaling, merchandising, selling, serving customers, and other functions in accordance with company policies.
- Keep department temperature logs accurately updated and maintained.
- Stock and display meat items safely and in accordance with company standards.
- Check product quality; ensure proper rotation and freshness.
- Keep sales areas, backrooms, coolers, and floors clean, organized, and safe.
- Maintain carts, tools, and supplies in designated areas.
- Provide excellent customer service and communicate effectively with customers and associates.
- Unload trucks, sort orders, and store items appropriately.
- Sanitize equipment following company and health department policies.
- Greet customers warmly and provide quality foods efficiently.
- Support store sales and profit goals through excellent service and merchandising.
- Maintain professionalism, courtesy, and adherence to policies, including harassment and discrimination policies.
- Work cooperatively in a fast-paced, sometimes stressful environment, managing conflicts tactfully.
- Act with honesty and integrity regarding customer and business information.
- Follow directions and seek assistance as needed to resolve issues.
- Support interactions with minors, individuals with special needs, and older adults.
- Perform essential functions of the role with or without reasonable accommodations.
Qualifications
Minimum
- Willing to work weekends and holidays.
- Effective communication skills.
- Ability to read shelf tags, signs, and labels.
- Safe use of cleaning solutions, sharp tools, and equipment.
- Ability to work as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Calmly handle stressful situations and make positive impressions.
Desired
- Experience in meat work or food preparation.
- Dependability and integrity in past work.
- Knowledge of applicable laws regarding employment, safety, and food handling.
