Job summary

The Niemann Harvest Market Meat Journeyman Cutter is responsible for assisting customers, preparing and cutting meat, maintaining the fresh meat case, and helping with department cleanliness. This role supports the Meat General Manager to foster a positive store atmosphere and Niemann Harvest Market culture.

Includes following safety policies, reading cutting lists, and assisting in receiving product. Pork, beef, and other meat cuts are prepared to specified techniques with careful attention to

Qualifications

• Six months to one year related experience and/or training.
• Ability to read cutting lists and follow safety guidelines.
• Certification in Food Handler’s as required by state law.

Responsibilities

• Delivers superior guest service and ensure absolute customer satisfaction.
• Lears and uses the three E’s: Engagement, Educate, Empowerment.
• Cuts all primals to specific techniques and grinds meats.
• Maintains meat cases and rotates product properly.
• Receives and processes meat shipments and operates wrapping scale.
• Cleans and sanitizes equipment, cases, and work area; follow health codes.
• Assists in inventory and follow store policies.

SUMMARY

The Niemann Harvest Market Meat Journeyman Cutter is responsible for assisting customers, preparing and cutting meat, maintains quality in the fresh meat case, helps with department cleanliness and assist in receiving of product while working in a safe manner. The Meat Journeyman Cutter will assist the Meat General Manager in creating a positive store atmosphere for customers and a positive working environment for Associates while fostering the Niemann Harvest Market culture.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Delivers superior guest service and ensure absolute customer satisfaction
• Learns and uses the three E’s: Engagement, Educate, Empowerment
• Assists customers with request and information
• Takes care of special requests in a fast, friendly manner
• Reads cutting lists
• Cuts all primals to specific techniques
• Grinds meats
• Maintains meat cases
• Fills cases/stock meat
• Rotates product properly
• Assists Butcher Shop Manager with inventory
• Receives and processes meat shipment correctly
• Operates wrapping scale & other machinery in Meat Department
• Cleans and sanitizes equipment, cases work area and sales floor
• Follow all Health Code guidelines
• Follows all store and department policies and procedures
• Follow safety policies and procedures; is a safety role model
• Other duties as assigned by supervisor

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

• Six months to one year related experience and/or training

• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
• Write routine reports and correspondence.
• Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other associates of the organization.
