Job summary

Fortune Fish & Gourmet is seeking a Meat Grinding Tech to operate grinding machinery and support the grinding department in producing bulk and portioned meats. The role reports to the 1st Shift Meat Production Supervisor in the meat production room.

Responsibilities include completing equipment training within 60 days, handling raw materials, and executing daily workload safely and on-budget. Flexibility for extended hours and prior machine operating experience preferred.

Qualifications

• Ability to read and interpret documents such as schedule, work instructions, safety rules, operation and maintenance instructions.
• Ability to calculate basic math (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division).
• Ability to communicate with room leaders (written and verbal).
• Ability to lift (see details under physical & mental demand).
• Ability to work flexible and/or extended hours, when needed.
• Previous machine operating experience preferred.

Schedule

Monday to Thursday, 3:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. or until completion. Friday hours may vary based on seasonality or production requirements.

The Meat Grinding Tech operates various machinery in the grinding department and general utility work within the meat production room, reporting to the 1st Shift Meat Production Supervisor. This position supports the grinding department in producing various bulk and portioned ground meats.

Physical & Mental Demand

• Stooping: Bending body downward and forward by bending spine at the waist. This factor is important if it occurs to a considerable degree and requires full motion of the lower extremities.
• Kneeling: Bending legs at knee to come to a rest on knee or knees.

• The worker is subject to environmental conditions. Protection from weather conditions but not necessarily from temperature changes.
• The worker is subject to noise. There is sufficient noise to cause workers to shout in order to be heard above ambient noise level.
• The worker is subject to hazards. Includes a variety of physical conditions, such as proximity to moving mechanical parts, moving vehicles, electrical current, working on scaffolding and high places, exposure to high heat or exposure to chemicals.
