Job summary

Cheney Brothers, Inc. is seeking a production teammate at our Greensboro, NC facility. You will cut and inspect boneless meats, prepare ground patties or bulk product, and ensure GMP compliance.

The role requires lifting up to 80 pounds, working from 7:00 am, and contributing to a safe, productive shift. Start time is from 7:00 am until the job is complete; Sundays through Thursdays with Fridays and Saturdays off.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 0–6 months related experience preferred.
• Must be able to communicate in English.

Responsibilities

• Cuts and visually inspects boneless meats to be ground and forms ground patties or bulk product.
• Completes HACCP paperwork and safety checks on equipment.
• Prepares work area for efficient operations and secures equipment at shift end.
• Assembles, packs, labels, seals boxes and stacks them for shipping.
• Inspects and rotates stock, maintains meat inventory as needed.
• Performs other duties as assigned and adheres to GMP
• Maintains a clean, safe production environment.

Position Purpose

Cuts and visually inspects boneless meats (beef, veal, lamb, pork, chicken and turkey) to be ground. The product will then be made into patties or placed in bulk packaging based on customer preferences. Responsible for cleaning and sanitizing tools to ensure all safety, Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and quality standards are met. Maintains an efficient flow of product through the grinding production process. Functions as a team member within the department and organization, as required, and perform any duty assigned to best serve the company.

Major Functional Responsibilities

• Cuts & visually inspects boneless meat (beef, veal, lamb, pork, chicken & turkey) to be ground. Takes inspected product and makes ground patties, bulk product and/or sausage as directed per customer order.
• Completes all required HACCP paperwork.
• Reviews production schedule performs safety checks on equipment and obtains supplies required to perform work.
• Prepares work area to ensure efficient operations.
• Secures all equipment and completes all required paperwork at the end of each shift.
• Assembles boxes, packs, labels and seals boxes. Stacks full boxes on pallets for shipping as assigned.
• Opens product cases, removes contents and rotates dated stock items as directed.
• Inspects and maintains meat inventory as needed.

Required Qualifications

• Required Education: High School Diploma/GED
• Work Experience: 0 - 6 Months Related experience
• Physical Requirements:
• Shovel Overhead 30 pounds
• Must be willing to lift up to 80 pounds.
• Understand and communicate in English

Compensation

$17.00 per hour
