Job summary

ShopRite Lawrenceville is seeking a Meat Wrapper Clerk (Saker NJ area) to wrap, package, scale, and price mark meat products in the Meat Department. The role requires maintaining neat, clean conditions and assisting customers with a high standard of service.

You will work in a busy retail setting, handling refrigerated items, following safety and QA guidelines, and supporting department operations to ensure product quality and proper stock levels. This position is on-site in Lawrenceville, NJ.

Qualifications

• Read, write, speak English fluently and accurately.
• Perform basic math calculations.
• Stand, bend, twist, reach, push, pull, lift up to 35 lbs and occasionally 80–90 lbs.
• Safe food handling knowledge and safe work habits.
• Stand/walk for entire shift in a fast-paced environment.
• Work in varying temperatures in meat department.
• Handle fresh, dried, and processed products with care.
• Interact with customers in a friendly manner.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a clean, neat, organized, safe work environment.
• Check refrigeration equipment for proper performance and report issues.
• Operate and maintain department equipment; report problems.
• Maintain sanitation per policy and QA standards.
• Stock merchandise and display cases.
• Know product types carried in the department.
• Clean and sanitize surfaces, utensils, and equipment.
• Calculate discounts and vendor invoice counts as needed.
• Work in refrigerated and cold storage areas; comply with safety rules.
• Complete daily sales reports, inventory counts and logs.
• Know item locations and price checks in the store.
• Promote current charitable promotions to customers.
• Stand at station for long shifts and work overtime as required.
• Assist in unloading trucks and transporting merchandise.
