Job summary

ShopRite of Garnerville is seeking a Meat Wrapper Clerk to assist in the Meat Department in Garnerville, NY. You will wrap, package, and price-mark merchandise, maintain a clean department, and support overall store operations.

The role requires reading and speaking English, basic math, ability to lift up to 90 lbs, and strong safe-food handling practices. You will work in a fast-paced environment with varying temperatures and team collaboration.

Qualifications

• Ability to read, write, speak, analyze and understand English.
• Ability to perform basic math.
• Able to stand, bend, twist, reach, push, pull and regularly lift 35 lbs., and occasionally lift 80-90 lbs.
• Strong knowledge of safe food handling and safe work habits.
• Ability to interact with Customers in a friendly and helpful way.
• Ability to work cooperatively with others.
• Must maintain punctual and regular attendance.
• Ability to work all assigned schedules and attendances.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a clean, neat, organized and safe work environment.
• Check refrigeration equipment regularly; report any failure.
• Stock merchandise and display cases.
• Calculate figures such as discounts and gross margins and verify invoices.
• Stock, rotate and price mark products in the Meat Department.
• Operate in refrigerated and cold storage areas as required.
• Complete required department reports (daily sales, inventory, receiving log, audit forms).
• Unload trucks and move merchandise weighing 35 lbs. (up to 80-90 lbs).
• Follow company policies, safety requirements, QA standards and health regulations.
