Job summary

Houchens Food Group is seeking a Meat Manager to supervise staff in the meat department, ensuring profitability within company policy and alignment with store goals. You will manage daily operations, training, and adherence to safety standards.

The role requires coordinating with store leadership, maintaining records, and optimizing inventory while meeting customer needs, including nights/weekends as needed.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• No prior experience necessary.
• Basic math calculations; must be able to grind and stack beef in cold temps (28–32°F).

Responsibilities

• Supervise workers in meat preparation and service.
• Maintain meat department paperwork and records daily/weekly.
• Train workers in sanitation, safety, and food prep procedures.
• Inspect supplies, equipment, and work areas for quality and standards.
• Record weekly meat purchases and monthly meat purchases; control shrink.
• Ensure proper temperatures in meat coolers and cases and enforce safety procedures.
