Job summary

Kj’s Market is seeking a part-time Meat Department Associate to deliver friendly guest service and support meat preparation and display. You will handle cutting, weighing, trimming, and rotating products while maintaining cleanliness and freshness in a cold environment.

The role requires ability to lift up to 100 lbs occasionally and 40 lbs constantly, plus the flexibility to meet shop needs. Prior meat-cutting experience is preferred, with ability to perform required skill tests.

Qualifications

• Friendly, outgoing personality.
• Ability to work well with others.
• Effective communication and guest service skills.
• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Must be able to work in a cold environment.
• Ability to bend, kneel, and stand for extended periods of time.
• Previous meat cutting experience.
• Meat cutting skill test qualifications.

Responsibilities

• Provides polite, friendly service to all guests.
• Prepares product for sale (cutting, weighing, trimming) per standards.
• Prices, stocks, and rotates frozen and prepared meats and fresh meat cases.
• Provides special guest service requests (eg. special cuts, slicing).
• Maintains sanitation standards in cooler, sales and prep areas.
• Maintains high quality, freshness, and properly dated product available for sale.
• Communicates temperature failures to supervisor.
• Announces meat department sale items on PA system.
• Assists in product receiving and storage.
• All other tasks as assigned by management.

• 3. Prices, stocks, and rotates frozen and prepared meats and fresh meat case.

• 5. Maintains sanitation standards in the cooler, sales and prep areas.
• 6. Maintains high quality, freshness and properly dated product available for sale.
