Job summary

The Winn-Dixie Company is seeking an enthusiastic Meat Department associate in Inverness, FL to assist customers and cut meat to specifications. You will contribute to daily department operations, promote safe handling, and deliver fresh, high-quality products.

You will follow cutting lists, wrap and weigh products, and support merchandising plans while maintaining food safety guidelines and honoring customer requests.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years of age.
• Authorization to work in the United States or the ability to obtain the same.
• Successful completion of pre-employment drug testing and background check.
• Strong customer service skills.
• Exceptional interpersonal, motivational and communication skills.
• Knowledge of basic math.
• Ability to handle stressful situations.
• Possess adequate knife handling skills and knife speed.
• Knowledge of cutting, traying, wrapping, and labeling.

Responsibilities

• Creates an environment that makes customers feel welcome and valued to build loyalty.
• Prepares and packages meat products and processes customer orders to specifications.
• Uses cutting lists to cut and trim products per company standards.
• Wraps, weighs and prices products as needed; cubes, slices and grinds meat when required.
• Operates department equipment and tools; fulfills special requests and orders.
• Promotes teamwork and ensures safety and compliance with laws and guidelines.
• Restocks and controls inventory to reduce waste and maintain freshness.
• Follows food safety, sanitation, and temperature logging requirements.
• Performs other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
