Job summary

The Winn-Dixie Company is seeking a Meat Counter Clerk to assist customers and cut meat to specification while supporting daily meat and seafood department operations. You will promote consistent, compliant operations and maintain fresh, high-quality products with courteous service.

Responsibilities include wrapping, weighing, pricing, and preparing products, using standard cutting techniques and equipment, and processing special orders while adhering to safety guidelines and inventory control.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years of age
• Authorization to work in the United States or the ability to obtain the same
• Successful completion of pre-employment drug testing and background check
• Strong customer service skills
• Exceptional interpersonal, motivational and communication skills
• Knowledge of basic math
• Ability to handle stressful situations
• Possess adequate knife handling skills and knife speed
• Knowledge of cutting, traying, wrapping, and labeling

Responsibilities

• Assist customers and cut meat to specifications for variety, size, quality and trim
• Assist in daily meat and seafood department operations
• Promote and execute compliant operating conditions and merchandising plans
• Wrap, weigh and price products; cube, slice and grind meat as needed
• Operate department equipment and tools and fulfill special orders
• Maintain safety, sanitation and food safety standards to reduce waste and shrink
• Support safe and efficient department operations and teamwork
