Job summary

Meijer, a family-owned retailer serving Michigan communities, is seeking a meat department team member to assist in daily cutting and preparation of fresh beef, pork and grind, following the production schedule.

You will write fresh meat orders, organize deliveries, and ensure safety and sanitation while presenting products attractively and maintaining positive relationships with customers and colleagues. Meijer has a long Midwest footprint with more than 90 years of service.

Qualifications

• Familiarity with weights and measure processes specific to meat processing.
• Ability to understand and follow specific safety and sanitation procedures.
• Experience in product presentation and packaging.
• Experience using Computer Assisted Ordering applications.
• Current handjack/hilo license.
• Experience with inventory control procedures.

Responsibilities

• Assisting in the writing of fresh meat orders.
• Organizing and checking in fresh meat deliveries.
• Maintaining a positive working relationship with customers, team members and leadership.
