Job summary

Harps is seeking a Meat Cutter to support the meat department operations, including staffing, supervision, pricing, inventory, and cleanliness. The role requires adherence to safety guidelines, proper packaging and labeling, and efficient, customer-focused service.

The ideal candidate has at least 3 years in meat or grocery retail, is 18+, and can work flexible hours including evenings, weekends, and holidays. Employment may require background checks and drug screening.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Three years previous experience working in meat market or retail grocery store preferred.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule including evenings, weekends and holidays as needed.
• Moves, lifts, carries and places merchandise weighing up to 100 pounds without assistance.
• Stands and/or walks continuously throughout shift.
• Ability to interpret, understand and follow instructions.
• Employment at Harps may be contingent upon completion and our evaluation of a PEP survey, drug screen, employment reference check and criminal background check.

Responsibilities

• Meat Department Operations: readiness, staffing, supervision, price maintenance, policies and procedures, inventory preparation and department cleanliness.
• Meat Department Replenishment & Inventory Procedures: ordering, replenishment, receiving, invoicing, back stock, reclamation and returns, damages and reworks.
• Merchandising & Sales Floor Standards: proper stocking, rotation, signing, displays, sampling and department procedures.
• Food Production and Processing: follow food safety guidelines, proper packaging, wrapping, weighting, pricing and labeling.
