Job summary

Yoke's Fresh Markets in Spokane, WA is seeking a Meat Cutter to provide a pleasant and efficient Meat/Seafood Department experience for guests. You will engage guests, demonstrate hospitality, and deliver professional service while handling cutting and trimming of meat and seafood products.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED; or 1–3 months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination.
• Reads and comprehends safety rules and procedures; communicates effectively with guests and associates.
• Performs math using dollars, weights, volumes; handles money and measurements.
• Applies common sense to follow written or oral instructions; solves straightforward problems.
• Meets state minimum requirements to operate meat equipment (slicers, grinders, saws).
• Valid State Food Handlers Permit; Driver's license or State ID.

Responsibilities

• Report for shifts on time and communicate clearly while performing tasks.
• Promote sales by discussing promotions and providing product recommendations to guests.
• Greet guests, share product information, and explain department services and features.
• Cut, trim, bone carcass sections and assist with related tasks as needed.
• Operate equipment safely (slicer, grinder, scales, knives, etc.).
• Assist training for Apprentice Meat Cutters.
• Handle guest special orders accurately and promptly.
• Mentor new associates and maintain a positive learning environment.
• Follow safety, sanitation, and company policies in all activities.
• Contribute to accident reduction and maintain department organization.
