Save More Food Market in Minocqua is seeking a dependable Meat Cutter to join our Meat Department. You will cut, trim, bone, grind, and prepare beef, pork, poultry, and other meat products, while maintaining quality, freshness, and customer service.

The ideal candidate has experience in meat-cutting, knowledge of meat cuts and safe equipment operation, and can work in a refrigerated environment with a flexible schedule including weekends.

Qualifications

• Previous meat-cutting, butcher, grocery meat department, or related experience is required.
• Knowledge of meat cuts, cutting techniques, and safe equipment operation.
• Ability to produce consistent cuts while controlling waste and maximizing product yield.
• Strong attention to quality, freshness, cleanliness, and presentation.
• Dependable, punctual, and able to work effectively as part of a team.
• Comfortable working in refrigerated environments.
• Ability to stand for extended periods and regularly lift up to 50 pounds.
• Must be available to work a flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays as scheduled.

Responsibilities

• Cut, trim, bone, grind, and prepare beef, pork, poultry, and other meat products
• Prepare steaks, roasts, chops, ground meat, and other customer-ready cuts
• Follow established cutting specifications, portion standards, and production plans
• Operate saws, grinders, slicers, tenderizers, wrapping equipment, and other meat‑department equipment
• Package, weigh, label, price, and stock meat products
• Maintain attractive, fresh, and fully stocked service and self‑service displays
• Inspect products for quality, freshness, and proper rotation
• Monitor inventory and assist with production planning and ordering
• Minimize shrink by following proper cutting, handling, rotation, and storage procedures
• Prepare special cuts and customer orders
• Provide knowledgeable and friendly service to customers
• Clean and sanitize equipment, cutting areas, coolers, display cases, and floors
• Follow all food‑safety, sanitation, and workplace‑safety requirements
• Assist with receiving and properly storing meat deliveries
