McKeever Price Chopper is seeking a skilled Meat Cutter to join our meat department. You will cut, trim, and prepare beef, pork, poultry, and seafood for the sales floor, special orders, and displays, while upholding high standards for quality, freshness, and safety.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Experience in meat cutting, butchery, or meat prep.
• Strong knife skills and knowledge of cuts.
• Food safety certification or willingness to obtain.
• Reliable, professional, and customer-service oriented.
• Able to follow safety and sanitation guidelines precisely.

Responsibilities

• Cut, trim, and prepare beef, pork, poultry, and seafood items.
• Follow safety and sanitation procedures when operating knives, saws, slicers, and grinders.
• Maintain meat case presentation, freshness, and product rotation.
• Wrap, weigh, label, and stock meat products for display.
• Assist customers with meat selections, custom cuts, and cooking suggestions.
• Monitor and maintain inventory, back stock, and cooler organization.
• Clean and sanitize tools, cutting boards, and work areas regularly.
• Support department manager with prep, ordering, and training tasks as needed.
• Stock and rotate packaged meat products in refrigerated cases.

Position Overview:

As a Meat Cutter, you’ll be responsible for cutting, trimming, and preparing meat products for the sales floor, special orders, and display cases. You’ll ensure our meat offerings meet high standards for quality, freshness, and safety—while providing friendly and knowledgeable service to our customers.

Key Responsibilities:

• Cut, trim, and prepare beef, pork, poultry, and seafood items to company and customer specifications
• Follow proper safety and sanitation procedures when operating knives, saws, slicers, and grinders
• Maintain meat case presentation, freshness, and product rotation
• Wrap, weigh, label, and stock meat products for display
• Assist customers with meat selections, custom cuts, and cooking suggestions
• Monitor and maintain inventory, back stock, and cooler organization
• Clean and sanitize tools, cutting boards, and work areas regularly
• Support department manager with prep, ordering, and training tasks as needed
• Stock and rotate packaged meat products in refrigerated cases

Requirements

Minimum Qualifications:

• Must be at least 18 years old
• Previous experience in meat cutting, butchery, or meat preparation required
• Strong knife skills and understanding of meat types and cuts
• Food safety certified or willing to obtain (McKeever’s will assist)
• Reliable, professional, and customer-service oriented
• Able to follow safety and sanitation guidelines precisely

Physical Requirements:

• Stand for long periods (up to 8 hours) in cold environments
• Lift and carry up to 80 lbs regularly
• Frequent bending, cutting, reaching, and repetitive motions
• Work with sharp equipment and heavy-duty machinery
