Job summary

A leading grocery retailer in Ocala, Florida, seeks a Meat Cutter to ensure the meat department operates at the highest standards. This role involves cutting and preparing meat, ensuring customer satisfaction, and maintaining sanitation and quality standards. Candidates must be at least 18 years old and possess a high school diploma. Experience with cutting equipment is preferred. Flexibility in scheduling and opportunities for advancement are available.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years of age.
• Experience preferred with hand tools and power equipment, including but not limited to knives, wrappers, scales, slicers, cubing machine, and power saw.
• Experience safely using manual pallet jacks, hand tools, and power equipment including knives, wrappers, scales, slicers, cubing machine, and power saw preferred.
• Ability to regularly lift 30lbs.

Responsibilities

• Cuts and packages beef, pork, and poultry items according to policies and procedures.
• Prepares and places meat cuts in the display counter to appear attractive to customers.
• Receives, inspects, and stores meat upon delivery to maintain quality.
• Receives, inspects, and stores meat to maintain cold chain and meat quality.
• Maintains sanitation and quality standards daily according to policy.

Job Summary

The Meat Cutter ensures the store’s meat department operates at the standards set by the company, driving sales and maximizing profitability. The Meat Cutter delivers the highest level of customer service and satisfaction by following the company’s meat merchandising plan and trimming /preparing standard cuts of meat as outlined in the Meat Cutter Resource Manual.

Responsibilities

• Uses knives and power equipment, cuts and/or packages authorized beef, pork, and poultry items according to Save A Lot policies and procedures
• Prepares and places meat cuts and products in the display counter according to Save A Lot procedures so they will appear attractive and appealing to the customers
• Assist with product ordering
• Receives, inspects, and stores meat upon delivery, to maintain the cold chain and ensures meat quality
• Ensures excellent sanitation and quality standards are met daily which adhere to Save A Lot policy

Qualifications

• Experience safely using manual pallet jacks, hand tools, and power equipment, including but not limited to knives, wrappers, scales, slicers, cubing machine, and power saw (were certified to cut meat) preferred
