Queen’s Price Chopper is seeking a Meat Cutter to cut and prepare all cuts of meat and maintain a safe, clean department. You will assist customers, identify best selections, and operate meat department equipment with proper safety practices.

Requirements include 18+ years old and a high school diploma; prior experience is preferred. Flexible schedule including evenings, weekends, and holidays may be needed. Benefits are provided for eligible employees.

Responsibilities

• Read cutting lists to prepare products.
• Maintain meat cases and display areas.
• Cut primal cuts to specified techniques and grind meats.
• Fill cases and stock meat; rotate products.
• Assist Meat Manager with inventory and ordering.
• Operate wrapping scale and equipment in Meat Department.
• Receive shipments and help customers with requests.
• Clean and sanitize equipment, cases, work area and sales floor.
• Follow company policies and procedures.

The Meat Cutter is responsible for providing exceptional customer service and establishing and maintaining a safe and clean environment that encourages our customers to return. Meat Cutters will need to know the varieties of meats and cuts and help customers identify the best selections.

Duties And Responsibilities

• Read cutting lists.
• Maintain meat cases.
• Cuts all primal to specific techniques.
• Grinds meats.
• Fills cases/stock meat.
• Rotates product properly.
• Assists Meat Manager with inventory.
• Operates wrapping scale and other machinery in Meat Department.
• Receives and processes meat shipment correctly and assists customers with request and information.
• Cleans and sanitizes equipment, cases work area and sales floor.
• Works with company programs, policies and procedures.
• Other duties as assigned.

Position Requirements

• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• High School Diploma or G.E.D equivalent preferred.
• Prior work experience preferred but not required.
• Ability to work flexible schedule including evenings, weekends and holidays as needed.
