Job summary

Moser’s Grocery Store in Mexico, MO is hiring a Meat Clerk (Part-Time) to join the meat department. You will prepare, package, and label meat products, assist customers, and keep the department clean and stocked in a fast-paced environment.

This role requires basic knowledge of meat cuts and food safety, 18+ age, and a Food Handler Permit (or ability to obtain within 30 days). We offer weekly pay, ESOP, stable hours, on-the-job training, and growth opportunities.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old due to equipment and work restrictions.
• Basic knowledge of meat cuts, food safety, and sanitation practices.
• Food Handler Permit required (or ability to obtain within 30 days).
• Flexible availability including days, evenings, weekends, holidays, and overtime as needed.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, package, and label meat products according to store standards.
• Stock, organize, and rotate meat department inventory.
• Assist customers with product selection and recommendations.
• Monitor product freshness, quality, and appearance.
• Maintain cleanliness, sanitation, and food safety standards throughout the department.
• Operate meat cutting, packaging, and department equipment safely.
• Assist with inventory management and waste reduction efforts.
• Set up displays, promotions, and merchandising presentations.
• Ensure compliance with company safety procedures and food handling standards.
• Support department operations and perform other duties as assigned.

What We're Looking For

• Ability to safely operate meat cutting and packaging equipment
• Strong customer service and communication skills
• Attention to detail and ability to follow procedures and instructions
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Food Handler Permit required (or ability to obtain within 30 days)
• Flexible availability including days, evenings, weekends, holidays, and overtime as needed

Work Environment

• Fast-paced grocery store meat department
• Frequent exposure to refrigerated coolers and freezers
• Exposure to meat processing equipment requiring strong safety awareness
• Standing for extended periods of time
• Frequent lifting, carrying, and handling of products up to 50 lbs
