Stoltzfus Meats, Inc. at New Castle Farmers Market is seeking a dependable Meat Clerk to keep our meat stand stocked, organized, and ready to serve customers.

You'll work alongside an experienced team, learn about our products, and help provide the friendly service Stoltzfus Meats is known for. No prior meat department experience is required; we will train someone who is dependable, eager to learn, and enjoys working as part of a team.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 16 years of age.
• Must be available to work Saturdays.
• Ability to work the scheduled shift through closing when assigned.
• Customer service experience preferred.
• Grocery, food service, retail, or meat department experience helpful but not required.
• Ability to follow food safety and sanitation procedures.
• Strong attention to detail and organization.
• Dependable, punctual, and team-oriented.
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced customer service environment.
• Willingness to learn basic meat department skills and procedures.

Responsibilities

• Provide friendly, helpful, and efficient customer service.
• Package, weigh, label, price, and stock fresh meat products.
• Maintain clean, organized, attractive, and well-stocked display cases.
• Rotate inventory using FIFO practices.
• Monitor product quality, freshness, and appearance.
• Assist with basic meat preparation tasks as trained and permitted.
• Follow all food safety, sanitation, and company procedures.
• Clean equipment, preparation areas, counters, scales, display cases, and other work surfaces.
• Assist with receiving, organizing, and stocking deliveries.
• Complete assigned opening and closing responsibilities.
• Support meat cutters, coworkers, and department leadership as needed.
• Help maintain an efficient and organized work area throughout the day.
