Stoltzfus Meats, Inc. is hiring a Meat Clerk for our stand at the New Castle Farmers Market in Delaware. This hands-on role involves stocking, organizing, and serving customers with friendly, efficient service while learning our product line.

No meat department experience is required; we train dependable, team-oriented individuals. The schedule includes Saturdays (10 am - 6 pm). You’ll follow food safety practices and help maintain clean, well-stocked display cases.

Qualifications

Are you dependable, friendly, and comfortable staying busy? We're looking for a Meat Clerk to join our team at the New Castle Farmers Market.

This is a hands-on position where you'll help keep our meat stand stocked, organized, and ready to serve our customers. You'll work alongside an experienced team, learn about our products, and help provide the friendly service and quality Stoltzfus Meats is known for.

No meat department experience? That's okay! We're happy to train someone who is dependable, willing to learn, and enjoys working as part of a team.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide friendly, helpful, and efficient customer service
• Package, weigh, label, price, and stock fresh meat products
• Maintain clean, organized, attractive, and well-stocked display cases
• Rotate inventory using FIFO practices
• Monitor product quality, freshness, and appearance
• Assist with basic meat preparation tasks as trained and permitted
• Follow all food safety, sanitation, and company procedures
• Clean equipment, preparation areas, counters, scales, display cases, and other work surfaces
• Assist with receiving, organizing, and stocking deliveries
• Complete assigned opening and closing responsibilities
• Support meat cutters, coworkers, and department leadership as needed
• Help maintain an efficient and organized work area throughout the day

Qualifications

• Must be at least 16 years of age
• Must be available to work Saturdays
• Ability to work the scheduled shift through closing when assigned
• Customer service experience preferred
• Grocery, food service, retail, or meat department experience helpful but not required
• Ability to follow food safety and sanitation procedures
• Strong attention to detail and organization
• Dependable, punctual, and team-oriented
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced customer service environment
• Willingness to learn basic meat department skills and procedures

Schedule

• Saturday: 10 am - 6 pm

Physical Requirements

• Ability to stand and remain active for extended periods
• Frequent lifting of up to 40 lbs.
• Occasional lifting of up to 60 lbs.
• Ability to work comfortably in refrigerated and cooler environments
• Ability to safely perform assigned food preparation and department tasks using approved equipment, with training provided
