Job summary

El Super #69 in Fresno is seeking a Meat Clerk to deliver friendly, helpful service in a fast-paced grocery setting. You will assist customers, maintain meat displays, and collaborate with the Meat Cutter to fulfill orders, while contributing to a clean and attractive department.

The role requires physical stamina, including lifting up to 50 lbs., and the ability to stand for long periods. Prior familiarity with retail food service is a plus.

Qualifications

• Read and comprehend simple instructions, product labels, pricing codes, shelf tags, short correspondence, and memos.
• Write simple correspondence.
• Explain information clearly in one-on-one and small group settings.
• Follow simple written or oral instructions with common sense.
• Lift up to 25 pounds regularly, up to 45 pounds frequently, and up to 60 pounds occasionally.

Responsibilities

• Provide friendly, courteous, and helpful customer service under direct supervision.
• Assist customers, clean shelves, and display cases.
• Clean, fill, and rotate the Meat Wrap displays.
• Help customers with special orders and coordinate with the Meat Cutter for item preparation.
• Must be able to lift 50 lbs., and stand, bend, and kneel for prolonged periods.
