Job summary

El Super #20 Las Vegas is hiring a Meat Clerk to join the Store Operations Team. The starting rate is $14.50 per hour, with responsibilities that include helping customers, keeping displays clean, and assisting the Meat Cutter with product preparation.

Join our team to support the Lamb department, manage specials, and maintain shelves in a fast-paced retail environment. Candidates should be able to lift up to 60 pounds and have a Food Handler Card or equivalent certification.

Qualifications

• Read and comprehend simple instructions, product labels, shelf tags, short correspondence, and memos.
• Write simple correspondence.
• Effectively present information to customers and coworkers.
• Regularly lift and move up to 60 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Under direct supervision, the Meat Clerk provides friendly customer service and assists customers.
• Clean shelves and display cases; rotate the Meat Wrap displays.
• Take special orders and coordinate with the Meat Cutter on items to be cut.
• Work in a fast-paced grocery environment with physical requirements.
• Adhere to Food Handler Card requirements and safety policies.

Candidates should possess the ability to:

• Read and comprehend simple instructions, product labels, product pricing codes, shelf tags, short correspondence, and memos.
• Write simple correspondence.
• Effectively present information in one‑on‑one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
• Apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions.
• Regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 45 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 60 pounds.

The Opportunity

Under direct supervision, the Meat Clerk provides friendly, courteous and helpful customer service. Assists the customers, clean shelves, and display cases. Cleans, fills, and rotates the Meat Wrap displays. Works with customers to take special orders as well as with the Meat Cutter to determine which items need to be cut. Must be able to lift 50 lbs., Bend, stand and stoop for prolonged periods.

The working environment is typical for a fast‑paced grocery store, and essential functions of this job include physical requirements such as lifting, standing, walking and kneeling as well as visual and auditory requirements.
