Job summary

Fiesta Mart is hiring a Meat Clerk for Store 018 Houston-Kirby. You will assist customers, stock and rotate meat displays, and work with the Meat Cutter to fulfill special orders.

The role requires physical effort, including lifting up to 50 lbs, standing, and bending in a fast-paced grocery setting. Reading and speaking Spanish/English is required; a Food Handler Certification is required for food-related duties.

Qualifications

• Read and write Spanish/English, interact with the general public and co-workers.
• Read and comprehend simple instructions, product labels, shelf tags, and short memos.
• Write simple correspondence.

Responsibilities

• Provide friendly, courteous customer service to shoppers.
• Clean shelves, and display items; maintain Meat Wrap displays.
• Assist customers with special orders and coordinate with the Meat Cutter; lift up to 50 lbs.

The Opportunity

Under direct supervision, the Meat Clerk provides friendly, courteous and helpful customer service. Assists the customers, cleans shelves, and displays items. Cleans, fills, and rotates the Meat Wrap displays. Works with customers to take special orders as well as with the Meat Cutter to determine which items need to be cut. Must be able to lift 50 lbs., bend, stand and stoop for prolonged periods.

The working environment is typical for a fast-paced grocery store, and essential functions of this job include physical requirements such as lifting, standing, walking and kneeling as well as visual and auditory requirements.
