Job Overview

Job Title: Meat Clerk

Department: Meat

FLSA: Non-Exempt

Primary Responsibilities

• Provide prompt, friendly customer service, assisting customers with products, inquiries, and checkout.
• Wrap, weigh, label, and stock meat and seafood products, ensuring freshness and proper display.
• Maintain cleanliness and sanitation standards in the work area.
• Assist with inventory management, including ordering and stocking supplies.
• Follow safety and food handling guidelines diligently.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent; food safety training preferred.
• Experience in a retail or food service environment is a plus, but not required.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to exert up to 85 pounds of force occasionally, and 40 pounds frequently.
• Must be able to perform physical activities such as lifting, standing, reaching, and bending.

Work Environment

Work is performed in a cool, damp environment with frequent noise, exposure to cleaning solvents, and potential electrical hazards. The role requires working in a fast-paced setting.
