Job Summary

Job Title: Meat Clerk

Reports To: Meat Manager

This role involves maintaining stock levels in the Meat Department by replenishing products, providing exceptional service to guests both at the counter and on the sales floor, and executing the boomerang theory of service.

Job Description

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Assist guests in finding items on or off the sales floor
• Receive, prepare, and fulfill guest orders and special requests
• Provide excellent guest service, professionally answering calls and assisting on the sales floor
• Support teammates and contribute positively to the Meat Department culture
• Address guest concerns and resolve issues using the boomerang principle
• Ensure quality control by inspecting, rotating, maintaining temperatures, and replenishing meat products
• Maintain proper inventory levels for supplies
• Follow food safety protocols and maintain logs
• Meet quality standards, including quantity expectations at 100% by 10 am and 5 pm
• Maintain regular attendance and communicate absences in advance
• Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications

Candidates should be able to perform all essential duties satisfactorily. Requirements include:

• Effective communication skills and tactful customer interaction
• Ability to handle a diverse environment under stress
• Knowledge of safety requirements and proper equipment use (slicers, lifting techniques, etc.)

Physical Demands and Work Environment

• Standing for long periods, bending, stooping, kneeling
• Full upper body mobility
• Lifting up to 80 pounds occasionally
• Exposure to cold environments like freezers and coolers
• Repetitive hand and wrist motions
• Ability to work in a fast-paced setting

Work Schedule

This position can be part-time or full-time, with shifts including weekdays, weekends, and holidays.
