Job summary

Washington County Council on Aging in Hurricane, Utah, seeks a dependable Meals-on-Wheels Driver to deliver nutritious meals to homebound seniors on pre-scheduled routes, Monday through Thursday.

The role is part-time with no benefits. A valid Utah driver's license, ability to lift, and a focus on friendly, respectful client service are essential. Background check and pre-employment drug test are required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required.
• No prior experience is required.
• Valid Utah Driver's License is required.
• Ability to communicate effectively with seniors, teammates and supervisors.
• Ability to perform the physical duties of the job, including lifting.
• Basic understanding of safe vehicle operation and driving laws.

Responsibilities

• Deliver meals to seniors along pre-scheduled routes.
• Review daily route sheets and ensure correct meals are delivered.
• Provide friendly, respectful service to each client.
• Observe clients for health or safety concerns and report to supervisor.
• Assist with packaging and loading meals when needed.
• Perform routine vehicle and equipment safety checks.
• Maintain a clean and safe delivery vehicle.
• Keep accurate route, travel, and delivery records.

Washington County Council on Aging is looking for a dependable, friendly, and community-minded Meals-On-Wheels Driver to help deliver nutritious meals to homebound seniors throughout our community.

What You'll Do

• Deliver meals to seniors along pre-scheduled routes
• Review daily route sheets and ensure the correct meals are delivered
• Provide friendly, respectful service to each client
• Observe clients for potential health or safety concerns and communicate concerns to your supervisor
• Assist with packaging and loading meals when needed
• Perform routine vehicle and equipment safety checks
• Maintain a clean and safe delivery vehicle
• Keep accurate route, travel, and delivery records

Minimum Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED
• No previous experience required
• Valid Utah Driver's License
• Ability to communicate effectively and build positive relationships with seniors, coworkers, and supervisors
• Ability to perform the physical duties of the position, including lifting
• Basic understanding of safe vehicle operation and driving laws

A Utah State Food Handlers Permit must be obtained within two months of employment.

Candidates must also successfully complete a criminal background check and pre-employment drug test.
