Job summary

Ozaukee County is seeking a Part-Time Meal Program Driver to operate the program vehicle, pick up meals from the caterer, and deliver to seven meal sites in Ozaukee County as well as rural deliveries to Saukville, Fredonia and Belgium. The role requires a valid Wisconsin driver’s license and a clean driving record.

Responsibilities include driving safely in all weather, loading deliveries, monitoring maintenance, performing wellness checks, and delivering excellent customer service to residents

Part Time/ Non- Exempt Position
Starting Pay: $14.99- $16.24

Job Summary

The Meal Program Driver drives the company meal program vehicle, picks up food from the caterer and delivers to all seven meal sites throughout the week. Additionally, they deliver meals to rural individuals in Saukville, Fredonia, and Belgium and picks up empty food equipment from meal sites and drop off at location for caterer to pick up. Additionally, the Meal Program Driver monitors vehicle maintenance and schedules any necessary service with the highway department and notifies Aging Services Supervisor of scheduled appointments.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities

The following duties are primarily performed and are essential for this position. Employees are expected to be able to perform each of these job duties satisfactorily and successfully with or without reasonable accommodations to be qualified for the position. Other duties may be required and assigned.

50% Safe Driving

Drives safely in all weather conditions to program caterer located in Milwaukee County.

20% Food Pick Up/Delivery to Meal Sites

Loads food and delivers to seven meal sites during the week throughout Ozaukee County. This task includes lifting, reaching and moving of food equipment, and using a food dolly to bring into sites. Organizes food coffins in vehicle to prevent spillage and make sure correct food coffins are delivered to respective sites and picks up and returns food equipment to site for caterer.

15% Delivery of Food to Rural Customers

Follows route sheet instructions for food delivery. This includes getting in and out of vehicle frequently during route and handling hot and cold food and delivering to customers.

5% Wellness Check of Customers

Checks in with each customer and reports concerns to supervisor, including reporting individuals not home for delivery.

5% Monitor Vehicle Maintenance/Gas Fill-up

Keeps track of needed oil changes, tire rotations, tire conditions, cleanliness of vehicle. Regularly fills up vehicle with gas weekly.

5% Customer Service

Provides a safe and efficient delivery of meals to each customer.

Minimum Education Qualifications

Education and/or Experience Requirements

• High School Diploma required.

Licenses, Certifications, and Other Requirements

• Requires a valid Wisconsin Driver’s License.
• Clean Drivers Record.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to stand, walk, sit, climb stairs, reach, lift and carry up to 50 pounds, and push/pull up to 80 pounds.
