Job summary

The Door is seeking a dedicated Meal & Pantry Operations Specialist to serve breakfast and lunch at the Bronx Youth Center, using Salesforce to track meals and ensure accurate records. You will collaborate with the team to maintain meal delivery accuracy and support pantry operations, including stock management and partnerships for extra meal opportunities.

Typical schedule is Monday to Friday, 7:30am–3:30pm, totaling 35 hours per week.

Qualifications

  • Experience in food service or related field.
  • Proficient in using Salesforce or similar tracking systems.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively within a team.
  • Proactive in problem-solving and adapting to changing needs.
  • Serve Safe Food Handlers certification.

Responsibilities

  • Meal Service: Serve breakfast and lunch to young people, ensuring timely and accurate distribution.
  • Ensure cleanliness and organization of Cafeteria, ensure serving items are well stocked.
  • Salesforce Utilization: Use Salesforce to track meals, maintaining accurate records to align with the number of meals served.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with the team and management to ensure seamless collaboration and accuracy in meal preparation and delivery.
  • Feedback Incorporation: Gather and integrate feedback from young people and key stakeholders to enhance meal services.
  • Food Pantry Management: Manage the food pantry, overseeing stock levels, cleanliness, organization, and initiating orders for replenishment as needed.
  • Partnership Identification: Identify and establish partnerships to stock the pantry and provide additional meal opportunities for young people

Bronx Youth Center:

The Bronx Youth Center is The Door’s sister site located in the South Bronx providing primarily Career and Education Services. The goal of The Door’s Career and Education Services Department is to support young people in completing secondary education and successfully transitioning into post-secondary education and employment. Programs within the Career and Education Services Department (CareerED) are designed to help young people, who are in school, out-of-school and out-of work, to assess, set, and obtain their educational and career goals. CareerED services specifically allow a young person to craft a personalized life plan defining the steps he/she will take to achieve those goals while developing the necessary skills for future life success and independence.


We are seeking a dedicated and organized individual to fill the role of Meal & Pantry Operations Specialist. The primary responsibilities include serving breakfast and lunch to young people, utilizing Salesforce for accurate meal tracking, collaborating with the team and management to ensure precision in meal delivery, and incorporating feedback from young people and other stakeholders.
