Job Summary
- The Software Engineer will join an established Streaming Analytics team, contributing to the development and enhancement of data-driven applications using Java as the primary programming language
- This role supports a mature, Agile-based development environment, where engineers collaborate to deliver scalable, high-performance analytics capabilities
- The position offers ad hoc telework flexibility based on current sprint priorities and tasking requirements
Primary Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain Java-based applications supporting streaming analytics solutions
- Collaborate within an Agile development team to plan, track, and execute sprint tasks and deliverables
- Develop and optimize data processing and analytics capabilities for performance and scalability
- Participate in requirements analysis, design discussions, and code reviews
- Troubleshoot and resolve application and system-level issues in a complex environment
- Contribute to integration, testing, and deployment activities across development cycles
- Maintain clear documentation of code, processes, and system functionality
- Adapt to evolving priorities and support tasking based on sprint needs, including limited telework as appropriate
Required Qualifications
- Must have active Top Secret/SCI clearance with NSA Full Scope Polygraph
- Twenty (20) years of experience as a SWE in programs and contracts of a similar scope, type and complexity is required
- Bachelors degree in Computer Science or related discipline from an accredited college or university is required
- Four (4) years of additional SWE experience on projects with similar software processes may be substituted for a bachelors degree
- Active TS/SCI clearance with current polygraph required
- Familiar with Gitlab, Maven, Confluence and JIRA
- Debugging and testing software programs
- Development of software applications
Desired Qualifications
- Understanding of AWS and cloud environment/infrastructure
- In depth and strong experience with LINUX
- NiFi Dataflow experience with custom processors, creating and/or leveraging existing ones
- Java, Python, and Scripting
- Familiarity with containers and container orchestration systems such as Docker and Kubernetes
