Job summary

Foxconn Industrial Internet in San Jose, CA is seeking a Mechanical Engineering Technical Program Manager to lead embedded hardware, firmware and mechanical projects from concept to mass production. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams and customers, manage design and validation, and travel internationally to Taiwan or other Foxconn sites as needed.

This full-time role requires a Bachelor's in Mechanical or Computer Engineering; MS is a plus; 0–7 years of related experience; English

Responsibilities

• Direct support customers on Server/Storage/Appliance projects, in embedded hardware or firmware/software PMM from Concept to Mass Production.
• As Front End interface, provide engineering service to customers in new product development, tracking design and validation issues and communicating specs.
• Back End interface with Foxconn design/test/validation, manufacturing/operations to meet customer needs during all NPI phases.
• On-site debug/meetings at customer sites, tracking AI findings and guiding backend RD and manufacturing to solve issues.
• Travel internationally to Taiwan and possibly other Foxconn sites for on-site support.

JOB FUNCTION:

As a Mechanical Engineering Technical Program Manager you will lead and support technical projects involving embedded & computer hardware, firmware and mechanical engineering. You will provide engineering and program management support to existing and prospective customers, addressing product development, integration, implementation, and technical issues throughout the product lifecycle.

The position will collaborate closely with cross-functional engineering teams and customers to ensure projects are delivered on schedule and meet technical and customer requirements. International travel to Taiwan and, as needed, other Foxconn sites may be required.

QUALIFICATIONS:

EDUCATION:

Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related engineering field required.

M.S. is a plus.

EXPERIENCE:

0-7 years of x86 computer hardware/Embedded uPs, and firmware/software experience.

LANGUAGE:

English proficiency required, Mandarin is a plus.

SKILLS:

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Direct support customers on Server/Storage/Appliance projects, in the areas of embedded and computer hardware or firmware/software technical program management from Product Concept to Mass Production.
• As a member of San Jose Server RD’s Front End interface, provides engineering service to customers in regards to new product development and deliverables, managing routine meeting, tracking design and validation issues/solution/fix. Communicate with Customer in system spec definition, design proposal, issues and solutions in detail.
• Back End interface with Foxconn design/test/validation engineering teams, manufacturing/operations teams, guide and direct the outcome to meet customer’s needs during all phases of NPI process
• Support on-site debug/meeting in customer’s site, tracking listed AI’s found by external customers, internal engineering design teams and factory during product development. Collaborate with local San Jose team and customers to investigate, reproduce, and provide guidance to back end RD and manufacturing teams in solving issues
• Travel internationally to Taiwan and possible other Foxconn sites for on-site support.
