Job summary

Telecon is building a fiber network across the Puget Sound region. As MDU Fiber Foreman, you will lead a crew installing InvisiLight fiber infrastructure across residential and MDU properties, coordinating with property staff to keep sites clean and residents satisfied.

You will oversee a mix of interior and exterior fiber work, including wall fishing and aerial tasks, ensuring every job is done safely and right.

Responsibilities

• Lead and mentor a field crew installing InvisiLight fiber across residential and MDU properties.
• Perform and oversee wall fishing, attic, duct, and crawlspace cable pulling.
• Operate exterior fiber installation work, including bucket truck or scissor lift as required.
• Pull cable through existing underground conduit and other approved pathways.
• Review work orders, drawings, and project docs to plan safe execution of each job.
• Coordinate daily crew activities, materials, equipment, and vehicles.
• Conduct pre-task planning, toolbox talks, and safety inspections with proper documentation.
• Serve as primary on-site contact with property staff and inspectors.
• Monitor crew productivity and schedule adherence, resolving issues on site.
• Review and approve crew time and production reporting.
• Ensure care, maintenance, and inspection of vehicles and tools.

Job description

Telecon is building the fiber network that communities across the Puget Sound region will rely on for years to come. As MDU Fiber Foreman, you will lead a crew installing InvisiLight® fiber infrastructure across residential and multi-dwelling buildings, covering the full scope of fiber construction work: interior installation, wall fishing, aerial and outside plant work, and conduit installation, making sure every job gets done safely and right. You are hands-on with your crew, coordinating directly with property staff to keep job sites clean and residents satisfied, and making the call on how each job gets executed. The mix of interior wiring, MDU coordination, aerial work, and hands‑on problem‑solving means no two days look exactly the same.

We are looking for someone with 5 to 10 years in fiber, telecom, or related construction, cell tower work, cable pulling, and similar trades count, along with real crew leadership experience. If you know your way around wall fishing, aerial work, and running a job site, we want to talk to you.

Quick Facts

• Location: Job sites in Issaquah and Federal Way, WA (crew stages out of the Tacoma, WA yard)
• Wage: $37.00 – $42.00 per hour w/ potential for overtime
• Shift/Schedule: Day shift, starting around 7:00 AM; typically 8 to 10 hours per day, five days a week

Responsibilities

• Lead and mentor a field crew installing InvisiLight® fiber across residential and Multi‑Dwelling Unit (MDU) properties, including placing, gluing, and splicing fiber.
• Perform and oversee wall fishing, attic, duct, and crawlspace cable pulling, along with other interior building fiber installation work.
• Perform and oversee exterior fiber installation work, operating a bucket truck or scissor lift as required.
• Pull cable through existing underground conduit and other approved pathways.
• Review work orders, construction drawings, and project documentation to plan safe, efficient execution of each job.
• Coordinate daily crew activities, materials, equipment, and vehicles to keep the crew prepared for each site.
• Conduct pre-task planning, toolbox talks, job hazard assessments, and safety inspections, ensuring documentation is completed accurately.
• Act as the primary on‑site point of contact with property staff and inspectors, keeping property management satisfied with the crew's work and ensuring each site is left clean and organized.
• Monitor crew productivity, workmanship, and schedule adherence, resolving field issues as they arise.
• Review and approve crew time and production reporting.
• Ensure proper care, maintenance, and inspection of assigned vehicles, tools, and equipment.

Required Qualifications

• 5 to 10 years of experience in fiber, telecommunications, cell tower work, or related construction (interior work, streetlights, and other cable pulling experience also count).
• Supervisory or leadership experience; foreman experience in fiber is ideal, but leadership experience in other trades is also considered.
• Hands‑on experience with wall fishing, attic, duct, and crawlspace cable pulling.
• Ability to read and interpret construction plans, maps, and work orders.
• Valid driver's license

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience installing fiber or cable in Multi‑Dwelling Unit (MDU) properties.
• Experience with InvisiLight® or similar interior fiber installation systems.
• Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) certification or training.
• Additional technical or telecommunications training.

This position requires successful completion of a background check and MVR review, as applicable.

Physical Requirements

This role requires the ability to perform physically demanding tasks, including wall fishing and cable pulling in tight spaces such as attics, ducts, and crawlspaces, extended ladder work, operating from scissor lifts and bucket trucks, pulling cable through existing underground conduit, and regular use of hand and power tools. Employees must be able to safely lift and/or move up to 80 lbs. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions of this role.

This role is primarily performed inside residential and multi-dwelling buildings where residents live, with regular exterior work. It involves regular exposure to work at heights on ladders and lifts, tight attic and crawlspace conditions, weather during exterior work, and vehicle and pedestrian traffic.
