Job Responsibilities

Conduct and coordinate the development and completion of the resident assessment process in accordance with federal and state regulations, company policy, and procedure. Complete all coding of medical records for billing purposes and submit to CMS in a timely manner.

Essential Job Functions

• Manage the MDS assessments, which are key for Medicare and Medicaid reimbursements, including setting RUG levels for residents.
• Promote teamwork and ensure a hospitable environment for residents.

Minimum Data Set (MDS) Oversight

• Oversee and coordinate the resident assessment process, ensuring compliance with regulations.
• Complete and review MDS within specified timeframes, ensuring accuracy and completeness.

Resident Assessment Protocols (RAP)

• Review and complete RAPs, ensuring proper documentation and signatures.

Care Plans

• Coordinate interdisciplinary care plan meetings and ensure timely updates and signatures.

Other Responsibilities

• Disseminate updates on RAI processes, facilitate family participation, and communicate with management about reimbursement impacts.

Minimum Qualifications

• Registered Nurse or Licensed Practical/Vocational Nurse with state licensure.
• At least 3 years of clinical experience, including 2 in long-term care, with knowledge of MDS 3.0 and RUG categories.
