Job summary

Mecklenburg Health & Rehabilitation is seeking an MDS nurse to complete resident assessments in a fast-paced, supportive environment. You will participate in admissions, review MDS for accuracy, and stay current with Medicare, PDPM, and Medicaid criteria.

Additionally, you will monitor CMI scores, ensure timely submission of assessments, and maintain knowledge of relevant regulations to ensure compliant resident care.

Qualifications

• Experience completing MDS assessments for residents.
• Strong understanding of Medicare, PDPM, and Medicaid criteria.
• Knowledge of state and federal regulations.
• Detail-oriented and able to ensure timely submissions.

• Participate in the admission process of prospective residents in terms of their nursing needs and appropriate placement.


• Complete and assure the accuracy of the MDS process for residents.


• Maintain current working knowledge of Medicare, PDPM, and Medicaid criteria.


• Monitor Case Mix Index (CMI) scores, looking for potential risks and/or changes that may affect Medicaid reimbursement.


• Monitor Medicare assessment schedules and nursing documentation to ensure accuracy and timely submission.
