Job summary

Calvert County Nursing Center seeks an experienced MDS Coordinator to manage the MDS process for residents, ensuring accuracy and regulatory compliance. You will maintain up-to-date knowledge of Medicare criteria, support nursing staff, monitor Case Mix Index trends, and coordinate timely submissions.

The ideal candidate holds a valid state nursing license and has proven leadership in a clinical setting. This is a hands-on role with leadership responsibilities, driving quality and resident

Qualifications

• Current and valid state nursing license.
• Experience in a clinical and healthcare setting.
• Excellent leadership skills.
• Demonstrable knowledge of state and federal regulations.
• Superb decision-making skills.
• Proficiency in MDS 3.0.

Responsibilities

• Complete and assure the accuracy of the MDS process for all residents.
• Maintain current working knowledge of Medicare criteria, serving as a resource for nursing staff and communicate changes in regulations.
• Monitor Case Mix Index (CMI) scores, looking for potential risks and/or changes that may affect Medicaid reimbursement.
• Monitor Medicare assessment schedules and nursing documentation to ensure accuracy and timely submission.
