Cape Heritage Rehabilitation & Health Care Center in Sandwich, MA is seeking an MDS Coordinator to plan, organize, and direct the MDS process, ensuring residents receive the highest quality of care and compliant documentation. The role requires a nursing degree with an active MA license (LPN or RN) and strong knowledge of CMS regulations.

Compensation ranges from $42 to $50 per hour, depending on experience, with weekly pay and benefits.

Qualifications

• Must possess a nursing degree from an accredited school of nursing, college, or university.
• Must possess an active and unencumbered license to practice as an LPN or RN in Massachusetts.
• Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand the English language.
• Must possess the ability to make independent decisions and deal tactfully with various stakeholders.
• Must be knowledgeable of nursing and medical practices, as well as laws and regulations that pertain to long-term care.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate the MDS process, including overseeing resident care plans and completing MDS reports.
• Oversee ADL training for facility staff.
• Issue and deliver denial notices and Medicare denial letters in a timely and appropriate manner.
• Complete and transmit all CMS-approved item sets (MDS) accurately and efficiently.
• Maintain knowledge of and comply with current CMS regulatory guidelines.
• Ensure the confidentiality of resident health information and maintain adequate systems to support billed services.
