Job summary

Manville School District seeks a compassionate MD Program Special Education Teacher to lead a self-contained classroom, focusing on functional academics and life skills. You will support students with diverse needs and partner with therapists and transition coordinators.

The role requires a Bachelor's in Special Education with TSD/TH certification and experience. Salary is commensurate with education and experience; benefits include health plans and retirement options.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Special Education or related field.
Teacher of Students with Disabilities or Teacher of the Handicapped certification.
Teaching experience preferred.
Ability to incorporate technology into instruction.

Responsibilities

Develop and implement individualized instruction aligned with state standards and functional academics.
Write, track, and implement IEPs; facilitate annual review meetings; monitor progress.
Implement sensory integration strategies with BCBA support.
Direct and supervise paraprofessionals to maintain a safe learning environment.
Collaborate with SLPs, OTs, PTs, and transition coordinators.
Guide students through post-secondary preparation.
